This dish used to be very fantastic. I didn’t use the crock pot, but as a replace made it in my dutch oven and baked it in a 350 oven for 3 hours. I added the potatoes in at the closing half-hour. I additionally only historical 1/2 cup of barley, only on yarn of I felt 1 cup would dangle taken over and made it too thick. The leftovers did change into a thicker stew though, which used to be till very tasty. 🙂

Completely DELICIOUS! 5 stars is now not sufficient. On these blustery days in Western Washington this in point of fact hits the station. I made this for my family on yarn of I wasn’t going to be home to fix dinner and when left to his pick up units DH would be feeding the formative years canned olives. When I purchased home that night my husband and even my formative years raved about it. What a blinding, wholesome and simple recipe. I’m making it again tonight. Thank Nat for any such kick a$$ recipe.

the final fashion used to be perfect. We ate it, but no one used to be working for seconds. I’d presumably produce this again, only cooking the barley one at a time and adding it at the live. No longer in the Crock pot.
