I right fellow the recipe that is on the catch of yellow corn meal ,it has turned out so factual, my husband dilapidated to fry bacon precise crispy & descend apart it in the batter. O that is so factual too , no honey till presumably I’d respect a reduce, I respect it hot or frosty with quite a lot of butter & presumably jam , I’m 8o, so I been baking this for years, I moreover bear set 1/2 of the batter in pan them set jam on high & the other 1/2 batter. Bake ,,factual,

Love this recipe. It be precise love I grew up with. It be now not sweet cornbread in itself which makes it perfect for soups and masses of bean dishes. My popular technique to respect it though is contemporary with butter and honey. I moreover respect that or now not it is a ways simple gluten free.

@UKgirl55 – I explain in all likelihood why your bread didn’t upward thrust is resulting from you dilapidated a 12″ cast-iron skillet. That is WAY to good for the amount of batter in this recipe. Strive it with an 8, 9″ skillet and I explain you may well presumably perchance presumably even see an infinite incompatibility.

Inappropriate! I’m throwing this “teeth decay on a plate” recipe away. I made it in the oven the employ of my neatly-seasoned 12″ solid-iron skillet, it didn’t upward thrust AT ALL and tasted bitter with all that buttermilk in it. For the glaze, I lower down on the honey somewhat in the interests of now not funding my dentist’s subsequent Mercedes-Benz and it turn into right about dazzling. If my daughter eats it, I could defend it; in any other case in the rubbish it goes. Don’t bother!!!

The recipe is ethical. 5 tbsp of melted butter, 1 tbsp for the skillet, and 4 tbsp for the honey butter topping. Hope that helps.

Am I learning it factual? Ingredients half lists “5 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted, plus 5 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temperature” and Directions makes employ of only one 4=5 Tbsps ???? Recently I see this form of errors too assuredly. Please account for which one is ethical. Thank you. Selda
