It has been an extremely qualified twelve months for blackberries. I’ve attach them in all the pieces from pies to tarts to galettes to salads, so it was most efficient a matter of time earlier than they ended up in my gin.   • For the Blackberry Jam:

  • 2 tablespoons

    sugar

  • 1 cup

    blackberries
  • For the Blackberry Martini:

  • 2 oz.

    gin (use a gin that is now no longer perfumey or intense, fancy Beefeater or Tanqueray)

  • 1/4 ounce

    Pleasant Marnier (or 1/2 ounce need to you desire a sweeter drink)

  • 2 teaspoons

    current lime juice

  • 1 tablespoon

    blackberry jam (or reasonably much less need to you desire a tarter drink)

  1. For the Blackberry Jam:
  2. Location 2 tablespoons of sugar in the bottom of a heavy-bottomed saucepan. Add a splash of water. Swirl it round on medium warmth till the total sugar is moist. Cook till the sugar comely starts to caramelize (you’ll see reasonably of caramel color and odor a hump of burning sugar).
  3. Purchase off the warmth and sparsely pour in 1 cup of blackberries. Glide. The aggregate will use up. Don’t apprehension. Build support on medium warmth and withhold stirring for roughly 3 minutes. It’s ready when the berries absorb released their juices and it appears fancy jam.
